Timmy Smith and Offensive Line Power Central Dauphin Over Downingtown West

One Thousand Three Hundred and Five Yards.

Yes, that was the total number of combined all-purpose yards by both teams.  Near the end of the third quarter, Head Official Lee Page yelled over to me, “How many miles have I run so far?”

Well on my phone app pedometer yours truly had gone up and down the sidelines 2.05 miles. The final number was 2.74.

The best patrolman on the evening was Central Dauphin’s Timmy Smith. Smith ran 22 times for 263 yards and 3 TDs. Just for fun, he snagged a 10-yard TD pass as the Rams outslugged the Whippets, 65-44.

The win put the Rams into the State 6A final next Saturday in Hershey against St. Joe Prep, who prevailed in overtime, 31-24, over Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
